Silence wraps everything, as if the night itself is holding its breath, leaning softly against the hills. I open the window and gaze up at the sky—searching for a sliver of crescent moon. From that ache, I pick up my pen and paper, and a baby poem is born. LAILATUL BARAT

 Today is Shabe Barat.  This night is the best and holiest.

  This religious festival is celebrated on the 14th and 15th night of the month of Shaban.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 


 Shabe Barat is considered to be the holiest night of the Islamic calendar.  Which is also known as Lailatul-Barat or Lailatul-Bara or Madhya Shaban.                                                 

 This night is celebrated by the followers of Islam all over the world.  Also known as Lailatul-Barat or Lailatul-Bara or Madhya Shaban.


 'Shab' is a Persian word meaning 'night' and 'barat' in Arabic means salvation and forgiveness.  Muslims believe.  On this day, Allah writes down the destiny of everyone for the coming year.  Therefore, the night is spent seeking mercy from Allah.


 

 In Arabia this festival is celebrated as Lailatul-Barat.  This is usually done before the holy month of Ramadan.  Holy Shabe Barat is celebrated all over the world with due religious fervor and devotion through prayers and asking for forgiveness.



  On this day, the boys of Dhaka city go to the High Court shrine in rickshaw-van and perform prayers together.


 Most people stay up all night to pay their respects.  He usually prays to Allah with short breaks and recites the Holy Qur'an till dawn.  Many also go to nearby cemeteries to apologize for the dead relatives.  Many people donate on this day.  Money and food were distributed to the poor to pay their respects.



 In India and Bangladesh, different flavors of food are arranged at home on the occasion of Shabe Barat.  Which includes parota, bread, pudding, semolina, simui, sweets etc.  Many Muslims in Bangladesh are happy to be assured of forgiveness.  Bajiyo burns on this day.


 To know the history of this festival, Shia Muslims have to look back at the birth of the twelfth Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi.  The night of Shabe Barat is celebrated as his birthday.  On the other hand, the people of the Sunni Muslim community believe that only Allah saved Noah's ark from the flood on that day.  This is why people all over the world celebrate Shabe Barat.



 Muslims celebrate the daytime night of the 14th of Shaban in the year of Hijri as the night of good fortune.  On this night, Allah Almighty opened the door of infinite mercy for His servants.


 On this glorious night, devout Muslims engage in supererogatory prayers, recitation of the Holy Qur'an, and dhikr in the hope of gaining the grace of the Most Merciful.  Many people fast and give alms.  He prayed for forgiveness for past sins and for the welfare of future life.



 Today is Friday, the holy night of the Muslim Ummah.  The Muslims of the world believe that on this night innumerable servants receive forgiveness and blessings from Allah Almighty.  This is why this night is called ‘Lailatul Baraat’ or ‘Night of Salvation’ in Arabic.


 Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) said about this night, Allah forgives the sins of the worshipers on this night.  But Allah will not forgive those who associate partners with Him, usurers, fortune tellers, sorcerers, miserly, drunkards, adulterers and those who hurt their parents.


 Shabe Barat prayers and rules and regulations


 In fact, there is no such thing as Shabe Barat prayers, since this night has to be spent in worship, so this solution has been given in the hadith.  And the world Muslims perform some special acts of worship.


 In the evening, after Maghrib prayers on this night, it is better to perform a total of 8 rak'ats of Nafl prayers in two rak'ats for the blessings of life, protection of faith and not to be dependent on others.  Rules of these 8 rak'at naafil prayers - Surah Fatiha in each rak'at then any one sura should be recited.  After completing the two rak'at prayers, Surah Yaseen or Surah Ekhlach should be recited 21 times.


 Nafl prayers of Shabe Barat


 Two rak'ats of Tahiyatul Azur prayers, rules - after reciting Al Hamdulillah (Surah Fatiha) in each rak'at, 1 time Ayatul Kursi and 3 times Qabulhu Allah (Surah Ekhlach).  Virtue: Seven hundred virtues will be written for every drop of water.


 Two rak'ats of nafl prayers, rule - like number 1 prayers, after reciting Surah Fatiha in each rak'at, Ayatul Kursi once and Surah Ekhlach 15 times, then Durood Sharif 12 times after returning Salam.  Virtues: Blessings in Ruji, liberation from sorrows, bounties of forgiveness from sins.


 Eight rak'ats of nafl prayers should be performed in two rak'ats, rule - after Surah Fatiha in each rak'at, recite Surah Ekhlach 5 times.  Everything else follows the same rules.  Virtue: One will be cleansed from sins, prayers will be accepted and more and more virtues will be found.


 The 12 rak'ats of Nafl prayers are two rak'ats, the rule - after Surah Fatihah in each rak'at, recite Surah Ekhlach 10 times and finish the rest of the prayers according to this rule, 10 times Kalema Tawheed, 10 times Kalema Tamzeed and 10 times Durood Sharif.


 14 rak'ats of nafl prayers in two rak'ats, rule - recite any one surah after Surah Fatiha every rak'at.  Virtue: Any supplication will be accepted.


 Four rak'ats of nafl prayers should be performed in one salam, rule - Surah Ekhlach Sharif 50 times after Surah Fatiha in each rak'at.  Virtue: You will be cleansed from sin in such a way that you have just been born from your mother's womb.


 Eight rak'ats of naafil prayers in one salam, rule - Surah Ekhlach Sharif 11 times after Surah Fatiha in each rak'at.  Virtue: It is narrated about the virtue of this that Hazrat Sayyidatuna Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) said,


 The Virtue of Fasting Huzur Sallallahu Ta'ala Alaihi Wasallam has said, whoever fasts for one day in Sha'ban, he will be forgiven by me.  There is another hadith which says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: He who fasts on the 15th of Shabaan will not be touched by the fire of Hell.  You can also read the prayers of Salatul Tasbeeh.  There are many virtues in this prayer.


 The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught this prayer to his uncle Hazrat Abbas (may Allaah be pleased with him) and said,

 Intention of Shabe Barat prayers ---


 Nawaituan ushallia lilla-hi taa-la- rakatai sala-ti lailatil bara-tin-nafli, mutawajjihan ila-jihatil kabatish sharifati alla-hu akbar.

 We know that the prayers of Shabe Barat are much bigger than the obligatory Nafl.  Since it is nafl, he fell asleep after praying nafl.  Make sure you get up just in time to perform the Fajr prayers.


 On this holy night, the Muslim brothers and sisters stay up all night praying.  May Allah accept the prayers of all His servants. (Amen)
