শুরু টা ছিলো ক্লাস টেন থেকে,সবে মাত্র ...

      

ফার্স্ট টার্মিনাল পরীক্ষা শেষ হয়েছে । হঠাৎ একদিন বন্ধুমহলে আলোচনার ঝড় উঠলো—আমাদের ক্লাসের আরিফ নাকি প্রেমে পড়েছে! মেয়েটির নাম রূপা, আমাদের স্কুলের ক্লাস সিক্সের প্রথম স্থান অধিকারী। বুদ্ধিমতী, মেধাবী, চঞ্চল এক মেয়ে।

এমন সময় খবর এলো, আরিফ একা নয়, তার বন্ধু নাহিদও রূপাকে পছন্দ করে! সে-ও মেয়েটির পেছনে ঘোরাঘুরি শুরু করলো। ধীরে ধীরে আরও কয়েকজনের মনেও রূপার জন্য দুর্বলতা জন্মাল। তবে সবার মন ভেঙে দিয়ে, শেষ পর্যন্ত, আরিফের সঙ্গেই সম্পর্ক গড়ে উঠলো রূপার।

      

     

         

সবাই হতাশ হয়ে পিছু হটলেও, নাহিদ দমে গেল না। সে নানা কৌশলে রূপাকে ফেরানোর চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যেতে লাগলো।

আরিফ ছিল সহজ-সরল, প্রাণবন্ত আর মিষ্টিভাষী। কিন্তু নাহিদের ছিল কৌশলী চিন্তাভাবনা। সে পুরো ব্যাপারটা শিক্ষকদের কানে তুলে দিলো। এরপর, রূপার বাবা বিষয়টি জানতে পেরে স্কুলের শিক্ষকদের কাছে অভিযোগ করলেন।

ফলাফল?

আরিফ সাতদিন বাড়ি থেকে পালিয়ে থাকলেও শেষরক্ষা হয়নি। একদিন স্কুলে ফিরে এসে শিক্ষকদের কাছে ক্ষমা চাইলো, কিন্তু হেডস্যার তাকে বেধড়ক পিটিয়ে দিলেন। রূপার বাবা-মাও মেয়েটির ওপর কঠোর শাসন চালালেন।

কিন্তু এতোকিছুর পরও, তাদের সম্পর্ক ভাঙলো না!

এরপর একদিন, রূপা তার এক বান্ধবীর খালি বাসায় আরিফকে ডেকে নেয়। সেখানে দু’জন আবেগের জোয়ারে ভেসে যায়।

সময় বদলায়, সম্পর্কও বদলায়

এসএসসি পরীক্ষার পর রূপাকে ক্যাডেট কলেজে ভর্তি করানোর উদ্দেশ্যে ঢাকায় পাঠানো হলো। ততদিনে প্রযুক্তি এগিয়েছে, মোবাইল ফোনের মাধ্যমে আরিফ আর রূপার যোগাযোগ অব্যাহত থাকলো।

কিন্তু কিছুদিন পর খবর এল—আরিফ ছেঁকা খেয়েছে!

রূপা এখন নাহিদের সঙ্গে প্রেমে মশগুল! শুধু তাই নয়, সে তাদের কোচিংয়ের আরও এক ছেলের সঙ্গেও সম্পর্ক গড়ে তুলেছে!

নাহিদের রুমমেট ছিল আমাদের এলাকারই এক বড় ভাই, রায়হান। নাহিদ প্রায়ই তাকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে রূপার সঙ্গে দেখা করতে যেত। মাঝে মাঝে তার বন্ধু রবি-কেও সঙ্গে নিত।

কিছুদিন পর ছুটিতে বাড়ি এসে শুনলাম, একদিন তাদের এমনভাবে দেখে ফেলেন আমাদের এলাকার এক শিক্ষক! তিনি বিষয়টি অভিভাবকদের জানান। ফলে নাহিদের ওপর পরিবার থেকে প্রবল চাপ সৃষ্টি করা হলো।

এ সুযোগে, রায়হান নিজেই রূপার প্রেমে পড়ে গেল!

এদিকে, রূপা তখন অপরিচিত ছেলেদের সঙ্গেও মোবাইল ফোনে সম্পর্ক গড়ে তুলতে লাগলো। আমাদের বন্ধুমহলই তার নাম্বার বিভিন্নজনকে দিয়ে দিয়েছিল। কিছুদিন পর, রূপা আবারও আরিফকে মিসড কল আর মেসেজ দিতে লাগলো, কিন্তু শোকগ্রস্ত আরিফ কোনো উত্তর দিল না।

ক্যাডেট কলেজে চান্স না পাওয়ায় রূপা আবার এলাকায় ফিরে এলো। তখন সে আবারও নাহিদের সঙ্গে সম্পর্ক জুড়ে নিল!

একসময় জীবন গড়তে হয়

তারপর অনেক বছর কেটে গেল।

গত কোরবানির ঈদে বাড়ি গিয়ে এক বড় ভাইয়ের কাছে শুনলাম, রূপা এখন আর পড়াশোনায় আগের মতো নেই। তবে প্রেমের খেলায় সে এখন আরও বেশি দক্ষ! এলাকায় নতুন নতুন ছেলেদের সঙ্গে তার সম্পর্ক চলছে।

মাঝে মাঝে বিষয়টা মনে পড়লেই হাসি পায়। ভাবি, এটা কি

 আসলেই প্রেম ছিল, নাকি নিছকই মনের খোরাকি?

                   A small story.

It All Started in Class Ten

It all started in class ten, right after our first terminal exams had ended. One day, a storm of discussion arose among our friends—Arif from our class had fallen in love! The girl’s name was Rupa, a brilliant, intelligent, and lively student who had secured the first position in class six of our school.

Soon, more news followed—Arif wasn’t the only one smitten by Rupa. His friend Nahid also liked her and started following her around. Gradually, a few more boys began to develop feelings for her. But in the end, breaking many hearts, Rupa chose Arif.

Even though everyone else backed off in disappointment, Nahid didn’t give up. He kept trying different ways to win Rupa back.

Arif was simple, cheerful, and sweet-tongued, while Nahid was more cunning. Using his clever mind, he took the matter to the teachers. Soon, Rupa’s father got involved and complained to the school authorities.

The Consequences?

Arif ran away from home for seven days, but that didn’t save him. When he returned to school and apologized to the teachers, the headmaster beat him mercilessly. Rupa’s parents also imposed strict restrictions on her.

But despite everything, their relationship remained strong!

One day, Rupa invited Arif to an empty house belonging to one of her friends. There, they drowned in emotions and got carried away.

Time Changes, So Do Relationships

After the SSC exams, Rupa was sent to Dhaka for admission to a cadet college. By then, technology had advanced, and Arif and Rupa stayed connected through mobile phones.

But one day, shocking news arrived—Arif had been betrayed!

Rupa was now deeply involved with Nahid! Not only that, she had also started a relationship with another guy from their coaching center.

Nahid’s roommate was an elder brother from our area named Raihan. Nahid often took him along when meeting Rupa, and sometimes, their friend Robi joined them too.

A few months later, during the holidays, I heard that one of our schoolteachers had caught them red-handed. He informed their families, and as a result, Nahid came under tremendous family pressure.

Seizing this opportunity, Raihan himself fell in love with Rupa!

Meanwhile, Rupa had started building relationships with even more unknown boys through mobile phones. Some of our friends had spread her number around. After some time, Rupa started sending missed calls and messages to Arif again, but heartbroken, he never replied.

As Rupa failed to get into the cadet college, she returned home and rekindled her relationship with Nahid once again.

At Some Point, Life Must Be Built

Years passed.

During last Eid-ul-Adha, I heard from an elder brother that Rupa was no longer as focused on her studies as before. However, she had become even more skilled in the game of love! She was now involved with several new boys in the area.

Sometimes, when I think about it, I can’t help but laugh. Was this really love, or was it just a mere indulgence of emotions?
